Hey everyone! It's been quite a while since I ventured here to post, but I thought I'd check in--in case the mass exodus happened without me getting the memo. :D I was hoping I could entice my flist here to check out the nextgendarkfest on livejournal--and maybe claim a prompt. We've had a slow start to this fest and I think we'll be extending signups for a couple days. So please check out the prompts and see if anything strikes you. It's always a really interesting and thought-provoking fest. Even if it's outside your comfort zone, think about it!

So here I am at DW, crossposting to LJ, and it all seems so complicated. From what I've read, it is indeed a DDoS (distributed denial of service) attack on LJ originating in Russia due to freedom of speech and expression issues. It's unfortunate that it has to happen but I do believe that sometimes these actions are necessary and I much prefer the idea of 'hacktivism' to real-life revolt--protesters are not protected by computer screens if they march in the streets and I wish violence on no one, which is what these things often come to.

Still, I miss my porn.

Anyway, I'll be crossposting from now on, at least fic if not everything, and you can comment anywhere, I'm easy like that.

Tomorrow morning I'm off to family reunion, and I'll be gone alllll weekend. I'm dreading it with the fire of a thousand suns and not just because my family is psycho with a capital S, but because it's in buttfuck nowhere with NO RECEPTION. No wireless, no laptop, no cellphone. I might actually die.
