literaryspellSo here I am at DW, crossposting to LJ, and it all seems so complicated. From what I've read, it is indeed a DDoS (distributed denial of service) attack on LJ originating in Russia due to freedom of speech and expression issues. It's unfortunate that it has to happen but I do believe that sometimes these actions are necessary and I much prefer the idea of 'hacktivism' to real-life revolt--protesters are not protected by computer screens if they march in the streets and I wish violence on no one, which is what these things often come to.
Still, I miss my porn.
Anyway, I'll be crossposting from now on, at least fic if not everything, and you can comment anywhere, I'm easy like that.

Tomorrow morning I'm off to family reunion, and I'll be gone alllll weekend. I'm dreading it with the fire of a thousand suns and not just because my family is psycho with a capital S, but because it's in buttfuck nowhere with NO RECEPTION. No wireless, no laptop, no cellphone. I might actually die.
Also, those of you interested in the drinking and writing comm, that IS happening. Hopefully by the time I get back my lovely co-modrivertempest and I will have the comm up and running for you all!

Date: 2011-07-29 05:43 am (UTC)I know well the personal hell of family reunions. Probably no one except the elderly really appreciate these things. Actually, sister likes them. She's nine years older than me and grew up with the cousins. I came along late and really hadn't even met most of them. Some of them have kids my age. I have nothing in common with them. Many of whom are Mormon and I am not. The reunions bore me to tears and I seldom make myself go.
Take some podfic or a Kindle or something.
